can you post some pics that arent close ups please. my 68 doesnt come close . I also run some spacers. A minimum of a 1/4" usually to help with heat issues.

The original clips cross bar goes out the back on the rear and way out th e front on the front. They are odd shaped compared to the generic choices ones that are sold. you will have to hunt for them. I will look and see if I can find them,. I did once Hughs thread had a link I think as well

ps, you should consider a double throttle return spring one inside the other. If one breaks you have a back up. Its not original but it is safer. If you dont and you do have a runaway engine just shut it off...some folks panic. coast to the side and figure it out. I had a throttle cable hang up and its what I did

Never in a month of Wednesdays would i have found that. Too the clip off and very slightly bent the carb linkage away from the manifold and it clears. I will have to consider your double spring advice after the 50+ horsepower increase at full throttle. These carbs were rebuilt by PO maybe 10+ years ago and they must have selected those generic clips.
Your manifold must be a different number than mine, your carbs sit much higher.

I wouldnt have thought about it but it was an issue for hooper in the past, thats what reminded me when i was staring at your linkage.
Be carefull on those throttle arms. They arent swaged on the best and can get loose if they get abused too much. Good luck with your car. She looks awesome!!!
I logged on this morning and thought to myself 'I'll go thru my thread and find the right post'. Then you saved me the time - thanks Scott! This forum is great - sometimes it's the small things that can drive us crazy. Short drive for me! Best, Paul

The doctor says its perfectly normal for a man my age....LOL, you should see what comes out of my phone when I type with that little monster, i turned off auto complete because of the odd messages it would send but it wont auto correct now....if you see edits under my posts its always typing corrections...hahahhah
I got the clips yesterday and they ARE the solution. Thank you for the guidance….now all i need is the shoulder bolt that ties that linkage together, easy to over tighten ☹️

Glad they worked for you...That center linkage bolt should be really loose...its only function is to close the butterflies if the vacuum fails. You dont want it to interfere with the vacuum trying to open them
I tried tightening my first original one and snapped it easily
