Default What is this

Just saw the beige hose broken

off. It is very brittle. Looks like a vacuum of some sort. What is it?

Could be a vacuum line that goes to the water shut off valve.

Since I'm in Florida and never use the heater, is it urgent that I get a new vacuum hose?

Yes, this is what shuts off the hot water. The other option is to remove or plug the hoses to the heater core.

Just put a small piece of vacuum hose on the end of the plastic tube and plug it back in.
