Re-installing the components for the deck lid and this rod doesn’t seem to be functioning correctly. It binds up and just seems wonky. Has Bubba been here?
Does this look stock?
is there a better solution?
this is a resto-mod-ish car. Not judged.
if there’s a way to correct/improve the function of the latch, I’m open to it.
K-Dog,
That is what my set up looks like minus the two nuts on the lever latch side. I have the two nuts as jam-set nuts (one snugged on top of the other) rather that one on the top and bottom. It may be causing it to bind?

Thanks. I’ll try switching the nuts to the top. The AIM is not much good in detail. There is a small clip for the rod, but I need to see how it gets installed.
This helps tremendously. Thank you!
I installed the clip and it helped. I think it’s also important to have all the rods connected because they apply the required pressure for the mechanism to function.
