Hi
I have a 72 Vette, with an (I believe) earlier 327. I'm having trouble identifying a code on the passenger side, front of the block. The first part is 3108436, next to it, what looks like..012*RO or C. * is a number/letter I can't make out. I have no history on the car. 1972 Steel Cities Grey.
The 3108436 sounds like the suffix for the VIN sequence #. I don't think this is a Corvette engine since none of the Corvette VIN unit numbers begin with 3 or 31. Could the 3 actually be an S?
Can you see a V or an F before the 012?
What is the block casting number - located on the rear flange where it bolts to the transmission, viewed straight down along the firewall on the driver's side?
