I am considering purchasing this Corvette (1980) and got some pictures of the underbody before making an offer. Is this solid or is there issues with the "birdcage." Thanks for your advice.
Well, from the limited pictures you posted, what shows is pretty solid looking. Where are you located? Are you in the rust belt or Canada? If Yes, then you'll need to look a little deeper. See if you can pull the kick panels and have a look at the body mounts there. Only takes about 20 seconds to access. I see some resale red spray under the front end. Has the car been color changed? Post as many pics here as you can, inside, outside, under and over. Ask a million questions, that's the whole point of a good car forum. You will get much good feedback from all the knowledgeable guys here and it's all free. Good luck
Thank you Greg for your advice! I'm located in the South and the car was right below rust belt in Virginia some of its life. I do think the color was changed because the clear coat is peeling a little. Thank you for your help and I look forward to possibly joining you as a corvette owner!
that's the only area of the "birdcage" that we can see. Its the bottom of the sill panel that runs under the door. You should have a real good look behind the kick panels and around the windscreen on this car.
