Bought a set of side pipes from a fellow member and got around to installing them this weekend. I sanded them down and painted them with Rustoleum High Heat paint, so we will see how long that lasts.
Those pipes look great...is that Satin or Semigloss.
If they ever need touching up buy some STAINLESS STEEL WOOL to lightly scuff the paint.
It won't spread rustdust like regular steel wool.
I redo the black steps on my truck once a year to keep em looking new.
Those side louvers are stock on every '80-'82. These specific SCE 4311 oval port copper header gaskets are a very good match to the ports on a set of Doug's side mount headers. When your new header gaskets burn out in less than 1000 miles or so you should buy and install these gaskets. Thats what I did. No burn out!

I will keep those in mind. I reused the Remflex, at least I think that what I used, header gaskets that I put on when I had to replace the head gaskets not to long ago. They were still in good shape so I went with it.
Had the exact same thing happened to my Sidepipes and Headers and I just got done polishing them and then
drove 2 miles and spotted the dreaded plastic bag flying in the wind, I panicked and tried to dodge it but
it wrapped around my Headers like a Python and i was F-----d! Tried everything to get that **** off to no avail.
