I’m in the process of rebuilding my rear suspension and detailing everything while out. The previous owner had the rear wheel bearings replaced about 6,000 miles ago and the trailing arm bushings appear to be in great shape.
I want to media blast the trailing arm and repaint it before i put it back on. If i remove the castle nut and flange, then the 4 bolts holding the bearing carrier to the trailing arm, will the bearings need to be re-adjusted when I put it back together or is it just a matter of re-torquing to 100 fl-lbs?

Depending on how the rebuild was done, meaning did they slip fit the bearings, or press fit. It may not come a part as expected. I had mine slip fit so I can repack the bearings easily for track day use.
Once they where shimed properly I don't re-adjust the bearings, BUT I DO MEASURE END PLAY BEFORE AND AFTER disassembly to make sure.
I wouldn’t screw with it..
a wire wheel should make short work and semi gloss..
there is so much mig weld strings everywhere you need a grinder to smooth out,.
i derusted and cleaned and painted in place..
you see very little in place.. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...nd-advice.html
I haven't had a chance to get the arms on the bench to check endplay and runout. If it's in spec, I'll probably go with interpon's suggestion and just clean up the visible part. No need to make more work for myself.

I agree, The amount for work to re-finish everything not worth it if you drive the car. Wont be long until it looks similar, or nobody will every see the items. Only worth it if the specs or end play are not acceptible.
