Default C3 Adventure

Little background, I bought a 1976 from a kid that had done questionable mods…thought it would be fun to get it running and learn how to do some mods. It sadly never ran, engine seized and I emptied the “chocolate milk” oil from the engine. I ain’t no quitter, since then, original engine out, ZZ6 crate engine awaiting transplant, new wiring harness and torque converter on the way. Any help from y’all will be greatly appreciated. Kind of hard to determine what worked and didn’t when I received the car, but I am determined to get her running.

It looks like a great project..
#1 Rule: Make it STOP before you make it GO! Repair/rebuild the brake system first.

I was giving my wife crap about that exact subject...because that is the exact thing she told me, every time I buy something, I hear..did you buy brakes yet! How deep would you go into the brake rebuild...lower (rotors, calipers, etc) or all the way to master cylinder and hoses replacement?

I would see if they leak first. The rotors generally last for a while. You may have to get them resurfaced if they arent warped and use a good ceramic pad. C3 brakes are very good and will stop the car on a dime once they are bled and set up correctly. Ususally the rubber hoses swell and plug with rust, I replaced mine with braided steel line. Work great

I bought my76 in 2011 and after a couple of years the calipers started leaking, I replaced all 4 with rebuilds from O'Reillys and new rotors as well. They would last a few months only to start leaking. After replacing them all twice and the right rear 4 times I bit the bullet and bought Wilwoods grey set a couple of years ago and have been trouble free since.
