Default air vent control cables

Does anyone have a preferred method of lubricating the air vent control cables that are operated by the 2 levers on the center console?? I'm putting mine all back together and the cables are extremely hard to move. Plus, the cable for the passenger side has some type of plastic adjuster sleeve that can lengthen or shorten the cable sheath by about an inch....what is that about? Any help appreciated.

Hey Greg, I usually give them a couple shots of PB Blaster from each end, work them back and forth a few times and they're good as new.
Cheers, Greg

The adjuster is so that you can match the lever being in the closed location on the console and have it match the door actually being closed. So if you slide the lever at the door closes before the lever is near the end of the slot, use that turnbuckle to adjust it

If they are out of the car, hang them up and add a few drops of light weight oil and let drain down. After a day or two, turn them around and do the other side. Good luck. Jerry
