Default Seat Frame Bolts

Trying to get the seats out of my 73 convertible to fix the seat belts and two of the bolts holding the seat frame to the floor just spin instead of coming out. Any ever run into this and found a solution? Bolts didnt seem to snap as the seat is still very much attached to the floor.

I have the same prob. On my 68. Under the car are thick metal plates 2" by 4" that are threaded which the s3at bolts screw into. The plates are riveted in place. The rivets are broken off.

Or someone has replaced the bolts and nuts with another smaller set through the bolt in the riveted plate and are thus spinning.
Time to get under the car as Doorgunner suggested and see what you got. If you’re unsure take a picture and post it to the forum. Plenty of help available. Good luck, Ike.

Depending on which ones are not letting go.
The front bolts go into a set of square nuts that are welded to a cross bar, they might have broken the welds, look underneath and see if they are spinning, you should be able to get a wrench on them to hold onto to get them off

The rear insides are into a set of tapped plates, it's possible they have sheared the rivets and are spinning, again have a look

The rear outsides are into another plate but it's up underneath the frame corner brace and harder to see / get at.

Any of these may have just stripped the threads out and are turning but not loose, and / or someone just put a longer bolt in and there's a nut on the underside. in that case you'll need to drill them out most likely

On my 73 I used a Dremel with a cutoff wheel, to just cut off the nut. Then purchase new bolts and nuts. I remember that the bolts toward the rear of the car were a bit tricky to get the nut on.
