Trying to sort out vacuum issues for my wiper door and headlight doors. I replaced both pulldown overide switches. The two pair of lines (one pair each switch) have a rubber 90 degree boot where the lines plug into the boot and the other side presses into the two male tabs on the back of the switch. Unfortunately, these boots are leaking. I could not find a source for them from the major suppliers. Any source for that? or would you recommend just installing the bare ends of the hoses directly onto the nipples of the switch. Thank you!
I just hadthe same problem...I wasn't concerned aboutnoriginality on mybasketcase project so I connected the vac hoses to the switch nipples/tight fit.
I also added 1 foot to each hose to make it easier to remove the gauge panel when necessary (function over originality in my case)
Thanks everyone for their input. Didn't want to chance buying used replacements, they may leak as well. Since this won't be a show car, I decided to attach the hoses directly to the pull down switch. Good tight fit as doorgunner described. Problem solved!! Wiper door and headlights now work great.
