Hi, I know some of my fellow corvette members would know more than me,but last Thursday my daughter, Elizabeth was riding with her boyfriend Harold Kelly Parsons from Lenoir NC,was driving his Porsche convertible down,and I’m not familiar with that area,as I live in SC,but he crossed center line,and hit a Silverado and killed him,and had to air lift my daughter to TN. Thankfully she is breathing on her own,but still isn’t responding,she did break a bone in her neck,and left side bone on her pelvis,and a breathing tube because her lungs were smashed in crash.and appreciate all the prayers for my family,and for Kelly’s mother,and his close knit friends,and he had a lot of them. Thanks

Sorry to hear that. We came down the mountain must have been a few minutes before it happened because around Cheeks Cross Roads at Happy Valley we met first responders and then Highway Patrol and wondered what had happened. Hope your daughter makes a full recovery.

How utterly terrifying and horrible for any parent. My deepest condolences to her, you, and his family for the loss of her boyfriend. Her journey will be a huge mix of physical, and more importantly, mental healing. Survivor's guilt and the foundational loss of someone so connected to her will be immense.
