Some of the first LED’s I tried didn’t fit either. There is a much bigger variation in dimensions with LED’s vs incandescents. Electronic circuitry also variable and changing. I put incandescents back in because they were already in my spare box. Headlightrevolution.com and superbrightleds have a variety of different configurations.

For the front 1157 I found that the Sylvania Zevo and Philips Vision led 1157 fit and also actually work with the cross-flashing front / side marker lights
That's a "no name" 1157 on the left, it will work in the tail lights no problem
