Good morning, I recently bought a 44K mile 1979 Corvette for my daughter. Before I throw these away, can anyone tell me if they were factory? The armrest cushion seems aftermarket, but a quick Google search shows it in some of the 79's I see. I bought the floormats to the right because I thought the smaller one in the middle of the pic seemed incorrect, but maybe after all, it was? Thanks - Ryan
Arm rest is aftermarket. Floor mats, both sets, appear aftermarket. I believe my 82 floor mats are factory, has the same cut, or pattern of your larger floormat but without the "corvette".
*Edit - after pondering while walking the dog; I may be wrong on the large floor mat. I'll be where 2Tone82 is stored later today and will check the mats.
The arm rest is aftermarket but a lot of people find them comfortable when driving and it's easy to remove/hide.
The mats were a factory option from 77 onward, look like the ones on the right of the image, the binding and carpet should match the interior color. Molded CORVETTE was there on the ones I've seen that were originals, (not saying they all did)
That thing in the middle is from a back seat of a car or something
As has been said, the "T" shaped armrest is an aftermarket item, and is a quite popular option with most owners.
The middle item is carpet panel that goes on the backside of the 79-82 (and 78 Pace Car) "clam shell" seats. Both seat backs should have one of those carpet pieces glued to it. It was basically there to dress up the back on the seat and to protect the plastic seat back from things in the rear compartment that might hit the seat back, and to protect the seat back when loading things in and out of the rear compartment.
Finally, the floor mats may be original. They are the same style mat that came standard in all 78-82 Corvettes, but it's a little hard to tell from the picture if they are original ones or replacements. They should be cut pile carpet and the exact same color as the carpet as what's in the rest of the interior. If they are original ones the carpet should be mounted to (black if I remember right) rubber backing with multiple rows of little **** molded into the backing, to keep the carper from moving around. A close up picture of the front and back of the mats might help to determine if they are OEM mats, or a set of reproduction ones.
Welcome to the Forum! How about some pictures of your daughter's 79?

The factory installed carpeted mats that came standard in all 78-82 Corvettes, all included the color keyed, molded rectangle, with the Corvette logo on the top center of both mats.
Nice looking car, congratulations.
I like my T Cushion.
They are aftermarket.
Mine has a zipper at the bottom rear and it’s a good place to put my registration and insurance information.
My 73 didn’t come with a glove box.
Yes, it did, unless someone eliminated it! Center (lockable) compartment behind the seats.
I think (hope) we know what he means about the glove box but if we want to get technical... the lock was on the passenger side "jack" compartment on his

Someone looks real happy with her new toy. Someone is definitely dad of the year material!

On cars with the 3 door rear storage compartments, the lock went in the center door, not the jack compartment door.
FWIW I remembered to take pictures of my original mats as promised...just forgot to post them. Front and back. They are in better shape than the camera reflects and do have the Corvette script on them.
Cool to see another frost blue 79 on here! I’d love a pic of the interior. Mine was swapped out to tan sometime in history and I’m curious how it would look in original dark blue.
