I recently purchased (Corvette Central) #323106 exhaust system. The system is for 68-72 small block, I’m experiencing fitment issues with the left side, the right side fits fine. The left side exhaust hangs low after the crossmember all the way to the exhaust tip. I reached out to customer service several weeks ago, nothing was ever resolved, and now they’ve GHOSTED ME.
I’m surprised that I’m experiencing problems with the good reviews that CC has for exhaust systems. Maybe I’m being to picky.
I need to elevate my concerns to the next level, so I’m looking for any advice or contacts within CC too help me out.
I would drop everything after the tranny crossmember on the ground and compare them. See if perhaps the driver side is "bent" incorrectly. You can then post the pics here and also contact Corvette Central.
My exhaust from CC fit wonderfully, ..and that was after having some fabricated exhaust and headers for about 30 years.
I have the same setup on my 72 and the driver's side is a hair lower than the right. Not that a casual observer would notice. Do you have the muffler hangar mounted as high as it will go? Once those bolts are torqued down you should be able to get up and down movement of the Exhaust tip by twisting the pipe connection at the differential.
I put the CC 2 1/2" system with Magnafows on my '72. The non welded muffler set up. Took me quite a while to get it to hang properly. A lot of twisting of the pipes and floor Jack's to keep the height and to get it right. I ended up buying muffler band clamps to secure the intermediate pipe to the muffler at the rear spring area. Still not 100% in my mind but close. 2" system may be easier to work with. Laying the two sides next to each other to compare may not help. If I recall, the bends are different for each side.
