Default Door jamb issue

Hello! Just bought my first corvette and I have a fiberglass issue in the jamb area. The fiberglass lip where the interior plastic hooks to, is completely snapped off. Any fixes for this?

My two cents, maybe very thin sheet metal to be used as a mold with fiberglass Matt and resin. Once you have the mold / sheet metal formed correctly, then make the needed piece. You will need to apply a release agent to the sheet metal so the fiberglass will release. Finally epoxy the new piece to the jamb.

A second repair method would be to make small sheet metal “Tabs” that could be held in place (mounted to good fiberglass) with epoxy like JB Weld. You would need a “Tab” for each one of the trim pieces screws. The “tabs” would be covered by the trim piece.
Good Luck.

The one photo just doesn't make it clear to me the proper repair. As much as I'd like to be helpful, I wish I could see around that corner.

But really...I was working on replacing my carpet, saw this thread and shot a few pics to help the OP figure out what it's supposed to look like.
You could probably make an aluminum piece and repair this, but IMO it would always look like a hack repair. I would make a form with the proper offset and screw it to the birdcage and do a fibreglass repair. If you put a release agent on the form it should come off easily after the glass has hardened. grind it down and bodywork it as required.

Find someone with a wrecked corvette C3 , that part is all the same 68 -82 . Cut that piece out then find a guy who's good with glassing to splice it in for you . Its a tough repair for a beginner ,especially when you don't have all the piece to start with .

If you get it wrong the door will crack it quick smart after a few closings ,been there .
