Hello all. Got to really looking at my 75 coupe. I noticed that the drivers side post pin had no shims but the passenger side had 4 on the post pin. What concerns me is is the body that out of trim that it required all those shims on the passenger side.
That is very strange indeed why someone did that. If the front edge of the doors gap is spot-on, then it's not a door hinge alignment issue.
I think I would take an erasable pen and trace the striker bolt position on the door jamb. Then you have an original reference point should the need arise.
After tracing, remove the bolt and one shim. Just snug down the bolt, close the door. Repeat. You could continue removing shims until something on the door latch seems out of whack. Like Peterbuilt said, one side looks like a different design than the other.
