Good luck story
I’ve had my 77 4 speed since 2015 and the parking brake never has worked very good. All the cable adjustment was used up. So, we’re going to Eureaka Springs Arkansas Corvette Weekend this year and I want a parking brake. I was expecting a tear down and replacing the parking brake pads at the very least. Watched a bunch of YouTube videos and was really dreading the job. So I started the tear down. But, before going too deep I thought I’d try to adjust the star wheel on the brake shoes, expecting to use a lot of PB Blaster. I removed the rear wheels and rotated the drums to get the adjustment hole lined up and “lo and behold” they adjusted with no PB Blaster and no trouble. Now the rear wheels will lock up when the parking brake is applied. Could not believe my luck. So I’m sitting here in the garage drinking a cold one and enjoying the afternoon.
