Carb not getting gas?
start by removing fuel inlet line a carb.
caution,
you may need to loosen the line at fuel pump to allow moving of fuel inlet line enough to place a plastic bottle over fuel line.
snug line at pump after placing bottle.
crank engine and see if bottle fills.
then you know if gas is getting to carb.
caution
There's probably (should be) a fuel filter in the carb fuel inlet fitting. When you remove the fitting to check and clean it, also run a fuel pump test. Have someone crank the engine for 5-10 seconds to see the volume of fuel coming up from the pump (aim it into an empty container). If not a good stream of fuel then something is amiss from the pump back. I assume it's got the small fuel filler hole, so don't know how the '75 gas tank is set up for inspecting the sender's sock or other debris in the tank. You could try removing the inlet fitting at the pump to see if a steady flow of fuel comes from the tank just by gravity alone.
Sometimes you can put a few drops of motor oil on the accelerator pump shaft to get the seal in the pump to work for a while.
