I'm original owner of a 1978 Silver Anniversary C3. The ventilation system blows hot air when Vent is selected with the "coolest" setting. If I select "hot" then the ventilation system blows even hotter air.
I recently had the air conditioning system converted to R134a. The air conditioning initially blew cold air when I'd alternate between AC and Vent, but now all I get is warm/hot air with either selected.
Not sure is these are related. Any help would be appreciated?
Cut the brown wire at the heater box for the low speed......motor stops spinning on low. This was a common thing to do back then......you could not shut the blower motor off.
I bet a chili dog, fries & shake the Heater Core is still blasting you.
Some engineer genius thought that the heater shut-off switch should run off vacuum, no less. Just what C3s need is more vacuum accessories right?
You will need purchase a heater hose shut off valve. Install in in place of the POS that's in there now. The valve is available at NAPA for around $30.
They come in 5/8 or 3/4 inch hose bib. Simple threaded screw style valve, open in the fall, close in the spring. You can hide in down by the firewall.
