Hello all,
I'm getting ready to submit my car to Bring a Trailer and pulling together my photos. I know the engine stamp is one of the important things people will expect to see. Have I removed enough paint in this pic? Would this satisfy you if you were in the market?
I know also to include the birdcage pics behind the kick panel, all driveline numbers and stamps, frame with extensive pics of the kick up in front of the rear wheel, tank sticker, and all LT-1 specific components.
A clearer photo would be helpful, but from what I can see, the pad looks good.
As I always say though, you really need to see a pad in person to make a definitive determination. That’s not your problem though if you are selling on Bring A Trailer.
Bottom end not rebuilt, but cleaned up and painted at one point. I discovered that the valve guides had play in them about 10 years ago. So I had a shop rebuild/refresh the heads. Motor was not removed and not decked.
Thanks all for the feedback. It's difficult to get a good close up angle with the fuel line there. I'll get a better pick of the pad before posting it.
Uploading my cold start, walk around, and driving videos this afternoon!
exactly what?
and yet motor work was done.
buyers want to know
Wow, pretty intense eh?
Relax, I have a full description written of everything I've done. If you were an interested or perspective buyer I'd share it with you. This isn't a for sale ad. Was asking about a stamp pad. I don't have a benchmark car nor will I position it that way. Enjoy your Sunday fact checking the forums.....

The pad is supposed to be completely free of paint, I'd suggest removing all of it. This just shouts, "Repainted by someone not in the "know"."
Get a soft light in there to brighten it up so there are no deep shadows.
Make sure the stamps are sharp, end to end -- even if you have to take a separate pic of each one. Backing away and cropping in may be what's needed if you are too close for the camera to focus.
Lastly, see if you can capture the texture (broaching marks) of the pad surrounding the characters. Textures are best captured with low, raking light.

fine,
painted pad brings up questions and you want to play it off as it is common on old cars.
You wanted opinions on your pad.
good luck
