After a few days of uncomfortable driving, I am asking about the seat spacers that are mentioned in the owners manual to adjust the seat angle. They are available from the dealer, IF it is 1977.
You can unthread the stops on the seat bottom to adjust the angle more straight and then measure the gap between the stop and the seat to figure out the spacers needed.. they a just larger washers really and you'll need to space the center seat lock strap the same.
Be careful when sitting on the seat with just the stop unscrewed and no spacer, if you press back to hard the force is put onto the nut that is spot welded under the seat frame rather than to top of the frame and can be torn off

How about adding 1 pair of washers , sit and see, then maybe add another?
Sure, just a tiny pain to take them all the way out, add a washer, all the way in, etc. but there's no risk of breaking the nuts loose. adjusting without the spacer is fine as long as you're not really pressing hard against the rear or thumping on it getting in/out.
Don't worry about the center lock bar until you get the angle set the way you want, it just won't lock the seat back in place
