Default Raised white letters or no?!!

Was recently in a conversation with a couple guys and was very surprised with their view on white lettered tires.

My C3 came with new BFG T/A's co it was not a decision for me.

What is your choice?

Yes, always yes. Unless we're talking 17"+ wheels, then not really.

Only thing similarly cool is the Goodyear Eagle with raised yellows

On some they look good.
On others, black walls seem to be required.

ESP OWL tires.
Everything I own has OWL tires -- even my beater snow plow Jeep!

No OWL ...off my tire-list.

Edit: I'm kind of at that age where we grew up with OWL/RWL tires.

I like the look, but they are a huge compromise for performance.

They all look the same from inside the car, but from outside, 15" RWLs look best, especially on YJ8 or N90 wheels.

It seems, Zora agreed on both the tires and wheels.

It depends. IMO, the OEM Rally wheels look great with RWL or ROWL. With larger diameter aftermarket wheels, definitely all black sidewalls.

Previous owner put these Cooper Cobras on for the sale. Love them!

My car is an early build ‘69, and according to the Bizzoco book, the white letter tires weren’t available when my car was made in the fall of 1968. To my delight the original white stripe tire is in the spare boot, so I know what the car came with.

An old photo from the C3 registry also shows the car had the Goodyear Eagle GT white letter tires on many years ago as well.

I'm split on it. Some cars look better with RWL and I've seen some black side out that look good as well. I think the wheels and paint color is my deciding factor.
