Looks legit to me. It was the 14003rd 1971 Corvette built. It is a coupe.

I'm sorry...I was looking at the vin decoder and I thought the "43" meant convertible. I'm new to this. Thank you for your help!

37 is Coupe. 67 would be a convertible. The digit used for the engine changed from the third to the fifth in 1972.

Yes there was. From 68-71, the third digit was a "4", indicating a V8 engine.
This information is not particularly helpful, though.
