The only real problem is that there's a metal bump cast into the bottom of the bezel which goes in the side opening of the larger plastic slider. That bump is on the side towards the center of the console so the slot opening on the larger slider goes towards the center of the consol
When installing it's not usually too bad, removing them can be a pain.
Put the large slider in the right way and when it gets part way in it will run into that bump, move the slider as far over towards the outside and press down on the slider where the bump is (half way from the front to the rear of the opening) while forcing the slider in more and it will flex up and over the bump, then keep pushing it in and it will pop into the slot area and move freely again. Then put the smaller slide in
