Default Finally getting my vette back

After way longer than I ever imagined I will finally be going to get my 77 back out of storage. Going to be towing it behind the moving truck we have rented. I will be using a Penske truck trailer combo. I plan on getting some boards to help with clearance for loading/unloading but any one have any other experience doing about 1300 miles like this? Are the front tire strap’s sufficient? What have those of you who have done this done to tie down the rear? Also curious if I should remove the spare tire tub as it’s currently empty. Thanks for any insights or ideas

Just an update, trailer worked fine couldn’t even tell it was back there except for the passerby’s waves, thumbs up and occasional honks. I did recheck the tie downs every stop and after the first couple they were set for the trip but now it’s home and cleaned again

tie down the back end.
tire straps like front should work.
some tire chocks

put car were it needs too be for proper "tongue" weight

check trailer tires, pressures, and heat during trip

good luck

Only thought is that if the fenders on the trailer do not fold down will you be able to open the door.

The straps are great.......just check them after you roll out in about 50 miles.....just pull over and check them.....the tires and straps will get acquainted and you will be able to give it another cinch on the buckle......
Towed my *2' Z/28 from York, PA back here (1760 miles) with my 2010 1/2 ton Silverado Crew Cab at 80-85 MPH....never knew the SOB was back there.....those trailers are as good as it gets to tow with.....
Stick a little grease on the ball.....

Would the car need a car-cover to protect it from rock chips or windshield "sand-blasting" from grit on the highway?

I think the buffeting from the cover might do more damage to the paint, if it were mine..no car cover!
