Default wiper door

Hello. My question is about a 69 wiper door. What exactly do the pair of wiper door bumpers on the underneath of the door do?. My 69 seems to be missing them and I wondered if it was worth putting them on. The door works fine but is a bit "rattly" when closed. I can't really see well enough under the door to see what exactly the bumpers would do when the door is open or closed, where they rest against or the purpose. Any opinions on if they are really needed or pictures, if possible would be appreciated.

I think they are supposed to set on the wiper arms when closed

I just went out to see where, on my 69, the bushing rest .You can`t see them when wiper door is closed but when door is opened the bushings rest on the wiper grill panel . Hope this helps .

Thanks for the replies. Makes since, perhaps their resting on those parts when open or close is meant to reduce the vibration and rattling of the door. Thanks again.

My '69 350/350 has starter 1108338 dated 9L12 (Nov 12, '69). The car was built Nov 26,'69. I believe that this is the starter that the car was born with. I've owned the car since 1975. I've just removed it for a rebuild as it was struggling. The nose is cast iron and is painted black.
The NCRS says "manual transmission cars and 427's with automatics have starters with and iron nose painted black; 350 automatic cars usually have starters with an aluminum nose left natural".
