I wouldn’t say you want one grease to use EVERYWHERE on a C3…there are places where grease was a) used in years past, b) used in places it shouldn’t, etc. Case in point: door latches. Lotsa folks use(d) whatever chassis grease they had on these, but it’s not an ideal lubricant for that application because there is more dirt exposure which will dry out and gum up the grease. A much lighter lubricant like lithium spray, or better yet, graphite, is a better choice here. Just an example.
I’ve always owned boats and have used marine grade grease for everything I own.
Now that I no longer own boats I’ve used up the last of my marine grease.
What do you guys use and suggest to start fresh with on my automotive projects?
Is marine grade grease an excellent option or is there something better for our classic C3’s.
marine grease the best. Been using it for years . Think about it , if it can withstand salt and water how well will it perform on a car that probably is never driven in the rain . Now bearing grease can be different because of the heat . Other than that save ur money and use it on all moving parts

Valvoline came out with the first synthetic grease I was aware of around 1996........I went to Royal Purple when I was at the engine shop in the 2000's because we had an account with them.......I then started getting my buddies to use them in their trailer bearings as many were burning up.......haven't had one burn up in years.......BUT, the stuff, as you found out....is not easy to get.......but I have never heard of a brick and mortar store not being able to special order something.......I mean, if I can buy it online so can they.....

Royal Purple is available on line through Napa Auto and the store said they could order it for me.
Their website said it was available and in stock at the store I went to.
They agreed that it is great stuff.
