Hello, this is my 1st Corvette. I think the clutch has a LOT of upward movement when released. Works fine, and is releasing well. I've contorted myself under the dash and can't see the bracket with the bump stop. I've looked at many pics and have the AIM and service manual.
Also see this attached pic where there's basically zero clearance coming back. Doesn't look normal. Any thoughts from the more experienced.
I've tried the search function and it doesn't seem to be very intuitive. I get a ton of unrelated posts. Maybe I'm old and dumb.
Hi! Thx for reply and the link! I'll be doing that. No power brakes tho, that's my fender. That doesn't have much lateral play, maybe 1/16". I'd think it would have more clearance. If I pull that back by hand, it hits that seam. Will a rebuild pull it that much toward the motor?

I THINK you're concerned that the clutch pedal rod swivel is too close to the flange of your vacuum tank. If the clutch is operating normally and smoothly otherwise, you might want to ensue that the upper arm of the clutch lever assembly (Z-bar) is not bent outwards towards the tank & fender. You might also check to see if the tank mounting itself can be adjusted further away (outboard) from the clutch rod. Ensuring that the Z-bar is properly mounted and/or rebuilding it certainly couldn't hurt.
