Found a wire harness tucked up behind the washer bottle, drivers side. Its a rigid line, looks like the end is broken off, with an L type wiring connector with it, one yellow wire, one black wire. All three go back into the cabin near the brake booster. What was it?
Hmmm. The wiring plug could be for the washer pump. The pump is unhooked and the wiring diagrams shows it with that L shaped connector. But all the remanufactured pumps have two straight prongs, not L shaped.
So a little more poking around, and the rigid tube is hollow, nothing inside, and it runs to an auxiliary switch on the brake pedal, under the brake switch. Also, the Quadrajet has a standoff added on the throttle lever. I think what im seeing is the remains of an old aftermarket cruise control.

You are correct on the vacuum relief valve and the Cruise Standoff on the Carb.
That vacuum hose in the engine compartment once went to a 4 way nylon vacuum fitting near the Transducer. Part of the HOLD circuit.
The 2 wire connector most likely landed at the Transducer.
Follow that cable from that Standoff to where it ends.
At one time it connected to the Cruise Servo if I'm right...

Great info.
Just to be clear, you're describing aftermarket cruise, not a factory cruise?
Just wanna make sure I'm not dealing with some rare 75 cruise option added by GM

Speed Control, option code K30, is not listed prior to 77

To my knowledge, 1977 was the first year Cruise was offered as an option.
If that cable is from a 77 (carb Standoff to Servo) that is a 1 year only part and very very hard to find.
Same for the Servo, 1 year only part.
