I got this one at Lowe's and wow is it bright. Just need to remember to charge it. Only $28 too, way better than my old chord and traditional bulb setup.
All of my power tools are of the red crack (Milwaukee) variety, so I have the M12 Stick light and M12 Rover. Both do a good job. The rover has a decently compact size and can be stuck nearly everywhere with its magnet and the stick light's hook offers a couple mounting positions.
Thank you all for the suggestions. The replies made me realize that my corded was a pain and a magnet would be nice.
I went to Harbor Freight to get a ball joint separator. As an aside (there is another post on this) the (https://www.harborfreight.com/3-4-qu...tor-99849.html) PITTSBURGH AUTOMOTIVE3/4 in. Ball Joint Separator worked like a charm. But I digress.
It had the two features I liked, no cord and magnetic base. I would rate it as just “OK”. As Tewski mentioned, the length of charge was an issue. It sort of sucks when your light dies before the job is done.

I’ll continue to look for something better.
and that is exactly why i went dewalt light with large batteries.. there are very few areas the magnet works for me anyway, especially the corvette.. and lasts for hours..
depending on what manufacturer of cordless tools you have? i would look at those lights as you probably have many batteries you can hot swap.
do not discount a headband either when you really need pin point light

Yes to all of this.
You can never have too much light, and hot swappable batteries are key. DeWalt, or you can get NiMH rechargeable AA and AAAs at Costco, but anything I have with a charge port get re-gifted.
I have had this one for almost two years: Astro 65SL.
It has plenty of brightness and has been one of first tools I reach for when working on things. But it has one annoying feature; the pivot point for position adjustment is too close to the base. This limits the range that can be illuminated by the beam. If I had to do it over again I would find one that has the pivot point between the handle and the light bar.
One thing I really like about mine is the ability to adjust the brightness of the light. Obviously, lower intensity of the lamp equals less power consumed therefore, longer life.
Low intensity Low intensity High intensity High intensity
I have 2 of these (3 years old). and they work great. You need to have 2 so one is always being charged. I've had 4 of these total, unfortunately, 2 met there demise when I forgot to remove it from under the car before driving off. Never found them!
