Excellent example. Thank you!

The top comment there is brutal. It did not meet the reserve price, and didn't sell. Don't make that mistake!

The market decides the price, not those of us here on the Forum.

Well.......as the OP stated in Post #17........he has had multiple offers at the price I suggested, which was $8000-$10,000. Obviously people have different expectations, and desires, out of buying a Corvette, but for some, the restoration of the car is worth alot,...and finding the right car to restore. This fantasy world mentality I see on here all the time that you can find this perfect car without rust, and everything is running well and well maintained and you are going to get that for some low ball number.....just makes no sense to me. Unless the person selling it is unaware, or just has to sell at any cash value.....most people have some clue as to what they have, and what its worth. This car, the OP car....is a 71 big block, matching numbers, high option car Yes....its got birdcage rust, and so does almost every other C3 Corvette .....whether people know it or not. Yes it has some damage. But for a guy like me,.....and apparently man others,......this car is a gem waiting to be cared for. Its a C3 Corvette.....so it is by that alone.

I get that some people are not interested in work......or restoration, and those people need to stick with better cars....or maybe previously restored cars, and hope they have the money to pay for one. There are really only two options. I laugh the most when I see people buy one that "looks" nice......but has never been restored.........its the same old story. THey buy it.....and then slowly, problem after problem, they lose interest because "its always broke".....eventually they give up....it spends 5-10 years in a garage, never driven....until they finally give up and sell it to the next guy.....and the cycle begins again. Happens with many of them.

I would have jumped at this car for $10,000 if I was ready for the next project. But.....I have enough to do with the 77 and all the engine problems the expert engine builders created for me.
