Would 69 carpet fit 72?
Hi,
I could get a great deal on (old but not used) AAC carpet set for 1969 coupe.
But the thing is I have a 1972 coupe.
Are 69-72 interiors shaped exactly the same? Would it fit or I need to buy their new 1972 set?
Anyone knows it for sure maybe?

Well a little search on Corvette Central shows 68-72 are the same. Don't know if that helps.

The fit is the same, but 80/20 loop was the only carpet in '69.
In '70 the custom interior option became available. If your '72 has it the carpet would be cut pile...

The back wall was moved toward the front of the car to give more space to the gas tank in case of a rear end collision. Some people were badly burned from the gas tank smashing the back wall and then the tank cought on fire.
They added a fuel bladder inside of a metal tank shortly after. I think in 1975. Lou.

There is for sure a difference in the heel pad on the carpet if you are judging the car, if you are going for fit... personally if the carpet is longer I find them easier to fit.. hard to add carpet... easy to cut carpet. - I cut carpet using a blade in a soldering iron. that way it will never pull, it is. ALSO what I use to poke holes for seat belts... hot soldering iron.
