Wiper door not fully seating

Is this a partial vacuum leak? Can’t get the wiper door to fully seat so there’s no crack /see pic).

When the engine's not running, does it sit flush? If not, there is a close-stop adjustment (from the '72 AIM):

And if it's not the stops keeping it up, it's possible the actuator connecting turnbuckle needs to be adjusted

I just finished getting my door to function properly, which took a lot of trial and error. I had trouble finding info and this forum helped me tremendously. Once you figure out the issue, please post the solution to help others who run into this problem. They will thank you. Good luck.

I suggest removing the wipers and seeing if it closes then.....before going off and doing whole lot of stuff. Unless you can absolutely make sure they're not getting in the way.
