Ok, so on my 75 coupe frame off restoration I need to have my number 2 body mounts on both sides replaced. My question is can any metal fabrication person do it or do I need to have an auto body shop do it. I have the new replacement rocker panels with the number 2 mount. Just them cut out and replaced.
You will need to find someone who has done this type of restoration before as this is not just a matter of cutting out and replacing metal. The fiberglass is bonded to the metal so it is a bit of a surgical process to separate and recombine the two during the course of the repair.
Also, know that it is typical to raise the body off the frame to gain the necessary access to these areas.
