RWL or Redlines? I currently have FR70/15’s (215-70R15 equivalent) redlines on my ‘69. Tires have tread width of ~6.5”. Looking to put a little more meat on the pavement while retaining the same overall diameter of approximately 27” (245-60R15 with 8” tread). I really like the looks of my current setup with the redlines but not sure if going wider would look awkward in that style? Should I switch to RWL? Have narrowed down to 2 choices…Diamond Back redlines which are actually Milestar Streetsteel tires modified by Diamond Back with the red line added to the sidewall or Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T with RWL. Staying away from Goodrich T/A’s due to the potential for“brown lettering”. BTW, the DB redlines are close to $1400 delivered not including mounting/balance while the Mickeys are half that at $700. Both are UTQG 440AB with “T” speed rating.
I love the red-line look with your car - everybody and their sister has RWL! The redlines set it off in a classic old-school way that RWL don't (unless you go with the wide-oval lettering). Up-sizing, I think, won't really compromise the look that much as the side wall is what's making the statement. (I had 235s on my '72 without issue, but don't know how 245s would fit with brake brackets, inner skirts, and slightly different fender shapes of your '69. Have you tested the sizing?)
I agree with leadfoot4. If you are smoking tires and sliding around curves, get the MT. For cruising, your black on black on black is really set off with the redlines and the ralleys. I think for that car, the perfect combo. I am very old school.
Seems budget is a big factor as well. Red lines are my choice, but prices are crazy.
you could add recline to any black sidewall yourself. Just search it on line for many ways to accomplish a nice finish.

Beautiful car! Definitively the redlines. One thing to consider is to go with an aftermarket 17 inch wheel and redlines if you don't care about it looking stock/original. It would give you a lot rubber on the ground. I had a set on my L71 retromod a few year's back:
