Default C3 power steering ram suppier

After a bit of a search for someone to rebuild my power steering assist ram I’m looking for a supplier for a new ram. I’ve noticed a large disparity in price, I’m looking for quality unit. Who do you guys recommend?

I used Lonestar for a NEW PS Valve, it’s been four years and no leaks (it’s the only thing on my 73 that doesn’t leak)! If they make a new ram, I would get it from them.

Borgeson swap, or revert back to manual steering. Assuming you haven't bought anything yet, either path will likely be cheaper and less frustrating in the long run.

I rebuilt my original one. That lasted about 10 years. Then it blew. I purchased one from one of the vendors. Oh about 4 years ago. It's been fine.
I can't imagine that there are many people making these anymore. I would think all the vendors are selling the same imported ram. No proof of this however. But I'm thinking there all pretty much the same part. It's a fairly simple part. The plating on the shaft tends to wear right on the straight ahead spot on the ram. So putting in a seal kit is often iffy.
I would shop price and cost of shipping.

If your rod is not pitted, you can reseal it for about $15 and a few minutes of your time. That's the best way if it is leaking, but still serviceable. Just a stack of washers, seals, and a snap ring. Any rebuilt ram you get is a crap shoot. They are just resealed originals.

There is a new unit on the market for something like $200 or so but the quality may be spotty.

I purchased a new Lares brand from Top Flight. They have regular sales and free shipping. Rock Aurto also sell new Lares. Checking on input from others, Lares may be among the best available.

Thanks for the input. I needed up going with a rebuilt unit, see how it goes! Someone mention going to manual, I actually like manual steering but this car is very original and it needs to stay correct. I would like to drive a C3 with Borgeson or Steeroids system for comparison only, maybe I’m a lone wolf but prefer the stock steering system. I’ve driven some C3s that were set up well and enjoyed the experience, hopefully I can get my car to that point. One item at a time!
