Hello,
I recently got a 1971 Corvette and when I pull the hood release the drivers side pops up but the passenger side does not. I end up shutting the hood and puling the latch several times beofre both sides pop up. Is this just a cable or do I have another issue?

The left latch (driver's side) is opened when pulling on the release. There is a second cable running from the left latch to the right (on the underside of the hood) that is supposed to transfer the unlatching movement. Inspect this cable and it's cable stops. It sounds like it's slightly too slack to transfer the pull to fully disengage the latch.
Don't fully latch the hood until you get a better understanding of the components and get this sorted! You can open the hood if the cable snaps or comes loose, but it's no fun to do so.
