Default Borgeson install question

Installing a Borgeson PS in my 80, this is my third install and all have gone smooth however on this one I've run into a small issue and wondering if anyone else has experienced it
the install went smooth but now installing the lines, I always install the farrels in the steering box then recap till after install and ready to connect the lines, I install the farrel in the pump under the car, all went in smooth, when I attach the high pressure line at the pump it only threads on a few threads before bottoming out... I take the farrel out and it threads all the way on, put the farrel back in and again it does tighten fully, the line doesn't move around but looks like only about 3-4 threads before it tightens... yes the farrel is all the way in 100%, it's not bottoming out at the bottom but at the collar so I can't just take some off the bottom, anyone else ever experience this?

No i havent put fluid in yet, i know the threads wont cause the leaking and the farrel will seal but the Borgeson has more than the stock 950ish PSI and feel the few threads that's catching isn't enough... I'm only getting a few turns. I am waiting on a 3/8 "U" bend tube for the return line and found these so I ordered a few, this should do the trick and give me more threading. Thank you

I don't remember putting a brass fitting in the power steering pump. Doesn't it already have a flared type fitting in it already?

no it has the O-ring style fitting without a farrel or flared tubing... other farrel will be here tomorrow and should work, I would just like to get a few more threads to hold.
this is the stock O-ring fitting

Golfobsessed, I am currently installing a box in my 81. Like you I am not happy about the High Pressure line sealing against the brass insert supplied by Borgeson to seal against the Flare. Have you managed to install the new ferrules that you found?. I would like to know how that went. My problem will be sourcing them.

I ordered this farrel from Speedway and it worked well, definitely gave me more threads for the high pressure line, with the supplied farrel i only got maybe 3 threads but this gave me allot more, i havent pressurized and tested it yet however as im still doing other things to the car and cant start it.
I would also suggest this 3/8 U tube for the return line... the later pumps have the return line tube facing down and hard to get the return hose on without a kink and this was a must

Thanks for your response. I went to our local hydraulics company but to no avail. The return line is okay as I did the same as you. I will order the ferrules today however it is AUS$60 just to mail them to me according to the site. I will let you know once I have fitted and pressured up the system. It maybe a little while as mail is very slow.
