Hey guys have a question about auto door locks
bought this 77 (no history) good deal and have been bringing it back up to road worthiness.
my question is it has the security switch in Dr fender and it has what looks like power door locks, but no door lock switches in doors.
is this possible. Door actuators in doors, but I have heard that this didnt start until 78 ,but no switch harness or connectors at outside key locks.
thank you
John
here are a couple of pics of doors with actuators attached.

Pass door original linkagage connected to door
(
Dr door red and blk wires are original wiring

I have a 77. Had 2 at one point. Never heard of factory electric door locks on a 77. Switch in fender says early 77. Factory alarm is only a noise maker. Nothing else.

Power locks were option AU3 starting in '78 to '82...

The key switch in the fender does nothing except arm and disarm the audible theft alarm system.

Power locks were first offered in 78, and the inside locking mechanism used starting in 78 was completely different then what was used in 77 and earlier Corvettes. 77 used a locking mechanism that was part of the inside door release and used a **** you turned. 78 and newer had a more traditional lock pull **** located in the door armrest and the inside release was separate and in a different location on the door. The GM power lock actuators aren't very strong, probably not strong enough to lock or unlock the earlier style turn **** lock mechanism.

A picture of the actuator and the interior side of your door might help.
