Plating on 72 gas cap?

Plating on 72 gas cap?
Does anyone know what the plating is on a orignal gas cap for 72. I have the Smc logo ? Thanks Ed

Original was zinc plated with the yellow dichromate.

Hi Ed,
The cap was in 72 only zinc/chromate plated! Don't trust the vendors.
Edit: Additionally, there was an optional shiny cap as a dealer option.
Here is a pic from my unrestored 72 sealed cap and a pic from NCRS book.

Thanks for everyone’s help, I had the cap Zinc plated, I had seen some original caps and decide to go this route.
