Default Engine shipping quote is outrageous

Im trying to ship a crated engine from Michigan to California and Ive tried LTL for Old Dominion and Fedex and received quotes of $2600. That seems outrageous. Any suggestions?

It weighs about 400 lbs and its in a crate that is 44” L x 33” W x 36” H

Try Freigtquote…

I had a block shipped within the last year or so for under $600, California to Pennsylvania.

Are you doing door to door or terminal to terminal? If you have the means to take it to a terminal near you and the consigned can pick it up at a terminal near them, it’s a lot cheaper.

It’ll be loaded at the shipped but will get dropped at my house. I got a quote from Frontline Freight using Freightquote.com for $475. That is much better.

Thanks for all the help

Try JP EXPRESS I have had great luck with them shipping a lot of large heavy items all over the country, motors, trannies, frames etc.
