Hi All, I recently stumbled across an engine in my travels for other parts I was buying. In the back of an 80’s G20 van lay an engine. It had been taken out of the car when it was going into restoration and the car had got stolen. That was 35 years ago. Long story short it’s an HX coded engine dated I 21 8. It had this alternator on it. Was just more or less curious to confirm its legitimacy as I see them going for good money, and if I list it as an original I want to be sure.
Hello, I would have interest in buying it. I just posted a Want to buy in the parts section. You can reach me at 440 821 5106 cell. Can you send more pics of it to my cell. Thanks, Bob
Hear ya Mate. Most people looking under my hood could care less if the numbers stamped on my alternator case match some unknown to them code for a date.
they notice the finish on the case. I notice if it works as it should.
But some are really into the correct date code stuff.
My thought is. Doesn't matter one bit about the date code crap. If it's Not THE ORIGINAL alternator. It's all bullshit.
