Still sayin, it's a lost cause, I'll come over and pick it up, I'll get it past the authorities!

Seriously mate, I feel your pain.
Look what I went through just getting some chips in the paint fixed.

I saw the new paint pictures.
It looks fantastic.
Maybe your painter can fix my scratch.

Maybe this will make you feel better: Years ago I had my truck in at my local dealer for some minor recall item. They thought they would do me a favour and wheeled it in to their body shop for a wash. I think the wash was done by some kid with a bucket full of sand. The paint was a mess of scratches, but what could I say? I have a good relationship with the dealership and I didn't want to screw that up. It took me an entire weekend and $100 worth of product to polish out the damage.

Its just a scratch.
In the time it would take me to talk with them about it, pull the cover, drive to and from their shop to drop it off, drive to and from the shop to pick it up and to reinstall it, I’d have the scratch buffed out.
Worst case, I have a brand new set of Ansen Vintage valve covers sitting in their box I can put on.

Dude, drop it off by me.
I'll give you a new set of covers for the trashed mill.
Even.
