Hello,
Could someone give me some help trouble shooting this issue. The front driver side of my hood is sitting a little higher than the right.
the sides are level and even. The corners near the windshield are even and level. It is just the front driver side. I have worked with the hinge on that side but it only seems to allow for lateral movement and not up and down movement.
Maybe it's an optical illusion, but it looks like the front left corner of your car is drooping. Looks like cracks in the body ahead of the tip of the hood, and 6" back from the front left corner of the hood.
If I had to guess, your car got hit, or sat on, and the hood is actually fine. But it's hard to tell from these angles.
Looking really closely at the first photo, I'd have to agree with the above comments. Most of us have shims under our hood hinge mounts. Adding shims to raise and removing, or thinner shims to lower.
I'm guessing you have no shims thus no downward adjustment. None the less, just slightly up from the very front the hood then lines up with the fender.
your nose shows cracks and is clearly in very bad repair. Repair the nose of the car. The hood is fine.
Not sure what year your car is, looks like a later model C3, but you can get quite a bit of upward movement of the front nose when certain bolts are loosened. The hood is mounted to the rad support so you can’t really lower it. Lots of threads discussing this issue - sagging or droopy nose. Try a search and try those suggestions. If more help needed. Post.
Hi Gingerbeard, first off, welcome! Second, sorry to confirm what others have said - your car has been whacked in the front and looks like it's got 20 lbs of mud in the nose. Because it's a 'flexible' nose, you'll need to replace it as the mud will always be an issue. You'll get lots of help here. Wish you the best, Paul
look at the "header" bar that the lights hang from.
looks like front of car was hit 45 deg from the left.
headlight bucket is skewed to the right.
messy but can be fixed
