Default C3 trim rings

I have not had any luck locating posts regarding trim rings, has to be some, in particular I have one clip on one ring that just will not stay seated, tried breaking the bead which helped get it to snap on but the tires we use now a days puts pressure on it and it pops off. Tried bending the clip but that spring steel is pretty resistant to reshaping and I can see deforming the ring if one gets aggressive. Anyone have any new ideas or tricks to share?

Is there a noticeable difference with the snap that won't snap? Does the ring lie flat on a flat surface or is it sprung? Have you swapped to a different wheel maybe? If the bead is putting pressure on it, maybe try pounding the flashing around the clip down some. These occasionally come up for sale, or post a WTB in the parts for sale.

Thanks again for that. I will remove the offending ring and post a photo of the clip that won’t clip. Someone must have tried to force it, maybe a tire shop. Never let them touch a trim ring.
