Default C3 Phone holder

I just installed this phone holder in about 5 minutes:

I don’t trust suction cups, so I removed the four little screws that hold the “clevis” part, exposing the lever that pulls on the suction cup. Then the pin in the lever pushes right out, and the lever and suction cup come off, leaving you with a nearly perfect screw hole centered in the base. I used the screw that holds the forward panel on the side of the console. It has a metal bracket behind so it’s nice and sturdy. The existing screw wasn’t quite long enough so I had to come up with a longer screw, but it was no big deal.
End result is the phone in about the only location where it isn’t in the way, and real easy to see and reach.

LOVE the iottie holders!!! Been using them for years in my other vehicles! The one touch in and pinch out are perfectly made for the phones!

I didn’t know about taking them apart though. Will have to consider that, too!

It was very simple to take apart and I saved the suction cup, lever and pin in case I ever want to put it back to suction mount.

This holder plugs into the cigarette lighter socket. Monitors batter voltage continuously. Also has a couple of USB ports. I purchased a short (3”) cable for keeping my phone charged. Only downside of that location is that my phone blocks the ammeter gauge.

Default Cigarette Lighter Power Question

Hey Copper Jimmy - I bought this same phone mount for my C3 but it won't power it up (key on). The original factory cigarette lighter heats up so I know the socket is working. The mount powers up in a more modern vehicle so I know it's good. I read cigarette lighters have evolved to more of an "accessory" power source so I am not sure if this plug is too modern for the Corvette. May be a dumb question but how did you get yours to work other than plugging it in? Thanks, Justin.
