Default 17x8 wheels, 4.5 backspacing

I am thinking of going with 17x8 rallye wheels but they have a 4.5 inch backspacing vs the stock 15 inch wheels which have a 4 inch backspacing. Tire size would be 245/45/17. It has all stock suspension. Does anyone have any insight on the backspacing differences? Will the new wheels clear the rear spring and parking brake cable mount? Any thoughts or experience is appreciated!

It will fit but will be more tucked in toward the frame. You should not have any clearance problems, it is up to you if you are ok with the visual of them being "sucked in" a little bit. You can also run a spacer to bring them to the look of a 4in BS as well.

Thanks Corey 68. I plan to use the short style center caps. Aside from the outer edges of the wheels moved in a half an inch the shorter caps would minimize the difference a little I would think. If I went with the spacers I would need to change the wheel studs to longer ones correct? How hard is that deal?

I would think so, take a look at this thread. Barry has 17x8 4.5 BS and went with spacers.

There is NOT a trim ring on the wheels, it's part of the wheel itself.

I actually purchased from Jegs, their shipping was cheaper.

I really like the look and considering 17 or 18inch rallys as well.
