Default 1976 interior question

I picked up a yellow 76 with a 462 buckskin leather interior trim code. The carpeting was faded and ripped and I'm looking to replace it. Under the door sill is the unfaded carpet and it looks brown? What color is the carpet and where is good to pick up replacement?

Much of the interior of my cars has come from Corvette America, now part of Top Flight Automotive.

Their website has improved greatly since the changeover, and they will happily send you samples to confirm colors. Ask for a leather sample, too, if you do.

Try OC Auto Carpets. They are subsidiary somehow of AC autocarpets which a lot of shops use ( including a lot of Corvette vendors). But the prices from OC are a lot less than the prices from AC but it's the same carpet. Buy direct and save. Great selection of colors and it fit perfect when I did my 78.

Great feedback, thank you.

Topflightauto seems to have a cut pile version available in dark buckskin. Do you know if id need and padding or backing to go along with it?

I see there's a "mass backing" option from ac auto carpets, is that something good to get?

From ac auto carpets they don't have the same names as original Corvette colors. Would caramel or brown be the closest to dark buckskin?

I have two GMC Caballeros and I replaced carpets in both, from AAC. One set with the mass backing and the other without. In my opinion the one with mass backing was much easier to install and the fit was clearly better. May have more to do with skill, but I'd go with the mass backing.

OC carpet will send you samples. I needed a custom color ( and yes you can’t crossover with GM color names because they service more than GM) so I narrowed down my search to 4 or 5 colors and they sent me samples. It actually worked out well for me since there is more than one DOESKIN”.

Thank you, I just requested the maximum 4 samples so hopefully one of those gets close.
