These finds always amaze me. At one time someone put a lot of work into this car. It has probably been in more than a few car shows. How on earth does it end up wasting away in a field?
I would like to see more pictures of it once you get it washed up. What does that front end look like straight on? You said you inherited this car, do you know any of its history?

all i know is my grandpa bought it from a guy 10 years ago and drove it home and it’s been parked ever since, PO bubba’d the wiring and claimed the car was too much for him
Ive seen that nose before......dont know what it is,,, could be full custom. Might be a Camaro copy
I'm pretty sure I've seem the nose before too. It might have been an aftermarket piece offered by one of the now defunct fiberglass companies like Vanacor, American Sportscar or someone else 30-40 years ago.
Hay,,, go for it man. These old one off customs are cool to me. I grew up cutting up pristine vettes making stupid show cars. Ya can't hurt it any more,,,, Get it back on the road......
The engine is not original for a 71 at least above the heads. it has the older style oil fill tube (i think that is from the 60's) and after market intake carb & valve covers.

i was thinking the same thing, it has a edelbrock intake and holley carb on it, i looked for engine stamps on the heads but couldn’t find any, it also has a chain bolted to the left side of the motor down to the frame, my grandpa said it’s an old school hot rod thing
i also ordered that engine harness along with the forward lamp harness !
Definitely post more pictures once you get it cleaned up. the chain is to limit engine movement upon acceleration. with the chain, headers, intake , carb maybe it used to be raced and maybe the engine has been "hopped up" beyond stock. definitely hope you get it running and find out it's got a strong engine under the hood.
